Philippe Guérin is a 5th generation winemaker at his family domaine and practices Philippe Guérin's vines are planted in 2 very distinct terroirs. The first is called “Les Gabbros,” locally known as “chappe,” it is a phaneritic rock, dark and dense, rich in iron, without flint or quartz. The interest in this rock resides in its potential alteration, permitting the passage of the vine roots withing the rock, thus avoiding hydric stress during dry years. The second terroir, “Les Micaschistes,” is a metamporphic rock, more clear in color than “Les Gabbros,” as well as less dense. This rock has a foliated texture and is easily divisible into layers. The root development of the vines is ameliorated when the schist layers are arranged vertically or obliquely. The wine that results has a taste of “pierres à fusil. » Since 2006, the domaine is certified as “culture raisonnée et lutte integrée.”

This the most pure and classic muscadet cuvée from the Nantes region. After an ageing “sur lies” during all of winter, the muscadet is bottled in the spring following the harvest. It is distinguished by its freshness, its finesse, and its light feeling in the mouth. It is a wine for all hours. It will accompany with elegance “huîtres, langoustines, et autre fruits de mer.”
