The white wines of Coteaux du Loir are elaborated exclusively with the chenin blanc grape. They present, like Jasnières, floral, fruity, and mineral flavours evolving into the dry fruits, in addition to noble honey and plants. The Coteaux du Loir area is very wide and full of varied soil compositions. Certain Coteaux du Loir have similar soil to that of Jasnières and thus the underlying flavors and aromas can also be quite similar. A wine will great balance but with less weight than the wines of Jasnières, it will go great with dishes such as fish “à la plancha,” or pasta with langoustines.
