Parker: "The top cuvee, the 2010 Vacqueyras Cuvee de Lopy, is composed of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah from 75 year old vines. A stunning effort, it boasts a black ruby hue along with notes of black raspberries, black cherry jam, camphor, licorice, truffle and roast beef. There is almost a grilled charcoal/bloody steak component to this intensely flavored, full-bodied Vacqueyras. With sweet tannins, a wonderful succulence and a full-bodied texture, it should drink well for a decade or more." 93 pts.

"...One of the most brilliant producers in Vacqueyras is Domaine Le Sang des Cailloux (meaning “blood from the stones”)...Year in and year out this is one of the most consistently high quality producers in Vacqueyras. Proprietor Serge Ferigoule (who has one of the great mustaches that exists in France) has just over 42 acres of vineyards. Ferigoule rotates the name of his classic cuvee between those of his three daughters, and in 2009 it’s the Cuvee Azalis, whom I believe is his youngest daughter. In other years it is called Cuvee Floureto (the 2007) or Cuvee Doucinello (the 2008). His old vine (50 years or older) cuvee is always called Cuvee de Lopy, named after the farm just outside of Avignon where he was born. All of the vineyards are situated on the Plateau of Garrigue, which includes small boulders and round/oblong rocks that are common in Chateauneuf du Pape. All of the wines are aged in foudres and are generally bottled with no fining or filtration."
