In the area of Condrieu, the vines are planted in a very special parcel in the vast amphitheater of the Coteau de Vernon et exposed to the south. "Vertige" is not the name a specific locality, but rather inspired from the very steep lanscape. Vines are grown in biotite granite soil and planted at high density (8000/10000 feet per hectare). No pesticides or insecticides are used, the number of treatments is restrained depending on the weather conditions, very little fertilizer is added and is organic, respect of the balance between the soil and plants is maintained. Low yields, leaf removal, and green harvests occur for a better maturity of the raisins.

The grapes at the right maturity are harvested and sorted manually. Only the best juice issued from the pressing is conserved to be used in the cuvée. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occur in barrels, with native yeasts used. Wine is aged 18 months in barrels, "sur lies," without racking, and with regular pumping over. 4.100 bottles are produced.

Style: Complex nose, combining the aromas of ripe viognier et those from the barrels. Round and powerful in the mouth with a rich texture, while the terroir brings incredible balance to the wine. Accompanies great "foie gras entier, frais ou poêlé, millefeuilles de pain d'épices au foie gras et aux pommes."
