Made from 1,5 ha of vines exposed to the south and situated on the hillside of Semons, above the town of Tupin-Semons. “Bassenons” is not the name of a specific place but comes from the name of the stream situated at the base of the hillside. Soil composed of granite and gneiss, typical of the south of the AOC. High density of vines, low yields, effeuillage, and green harvests all take place. Vines treated without insecticides of pesticides, the number of treatments are restrained according to the weather. Manual harvest, and in the cave, rigorous sorting, pressing, and partial destemming occur. Fermentation of the skins “en cuves ouvertes for 2 weeks controlling the temperatures, regular pigeage and remontage. Malolactic fermentation in barrels with native yeast. Aged 18 months in barrels.
A charming wine, nose of red and black fruits, floral notes. Round and delicate in the mouth, silky tannins. Accompanies “viande rouge, gigot d'agneau aux épices (cumin, coriandre, graines de fenouil, thym, laurier, citron confit).” Annual Production: Approximately 8.000 bottles
