The Tavel “La Forcadière” comes from a plateau of rocks and friable, sandy hillsides, and hillsides and plateaus of rolled pebbles. The avg. age of the viines is 40 years old, and the yield is 30hl/ha. Vinification includes de-stemming, débourbage, cold maceration for 1 day, and fermentation at a low temperature with no malolactic fermentation. Aged in an inox tank. Annual Production: 61.000 bottles.
This cuvée attracts the eye by its deep and brilliant color, evoking crushed strawberries, a color generally more common in Provence than in Tavel. A veritable salad of fresh fruits, the bouquet is supplemented with a touch of pepper, which precludes an ample and elegant taste with aromas of strawberries and spices. This rosé, as with a peacock showing its tail, finishes by persistently revealing itself in a particularly gratifying way. Food accompaniment: charcuterie, volailles, viandes blanches, cuisines italienne, exotique ou épicée, et plats à base de saumon. Optimal service temperature: 10C-12C
