Constantin-Chevalier a beautiful Provençal house in the Côtes du Luberon in the foothills of Provence. With nearly fifty acres of vines, the situation is ideal for making quality wines. The gravely soil resembles that of the great vineyards of the Rhône valley and the modern wine cellars are housed in thick walled buildings dating back to the sixteenth century; ideal cool conditions for making and maturing wines in this sunny part of France. Château ConstantinChevalier makes classic wines of the South; Provençal in charm, Rhône in style. No vineyard in Provence would be complete without a rosé, and the rosé from Château Constantin-Chevalier is one of the best. It's a bleed rosé, where a skin maceration is conducted for about 24 hours at ultra low temperatures (15C-16C). The result is a very aromatic and fresh wine with taste and colour that make it easily recognisable.
The robe is a superb and intense pink fuschia. Initially the nose evokes raspberries and squashed little red fruit and then evolves into more mineral notes of wild plants. This is a greedy and flattering mouth: rich, full of power, with good length. A rosé designed for the pleasures of the table, with depth to stand the test of time.
